The Directorate of Technical Affairs

It undertakes the implementation of tasks and responsibilities related to developing, preparing and evaluating the Council's plans, programs and activities related to the organization and development of the nursing and midwifery profession in the fields of practice, nursing education and training and scientific research with the aim of improving the health of the community. Additionally, it contributes to the development of the Council's strategy, plans, programs and activities, and the preparation of draft laws, regulations and instructions related to its work, as well as contributing to the preparation of the draft annual budget, and the preparation of the scheduled manpower profile budget based on the organizational structure of the Council.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1

Implementing the vision and objectives of the Council to develop nursing services in Jordan, aiming to protect society and improve overall health.

2

Contributing to the development of national health strategies and the implementation of related plans and programs.

3

Developing the national strategy for the nursing and midwifery profession and following up on its implementation.

4

Developing and preparing legislation governing the profession of nursing and midwifery.

5

Advancing nursing education by contributing to the preparation and development of policies and activities aimed at improving its outcomes.

Establishing continuous professional development activities and programs to develop nursing human resources.

7

Developing plans that support scientific research in the nursing and midwifery profession.

Developing policies and studies related to the profession.

Organizing and developing the specialization in the profession and the legislation related to it, and setting the necessary plans to implement and institutionalize the specialization programs.

Organizing the professional ladder, developing legislation, and setting the necessary plans for its implementation.

Setting standards, competencies, and field of practice for the profession at the general and specialization levels.

Developing and preparing licensure examinations and specialization examinations for nurses and midwives .

Developing records and databases for nursing and midwifery professionals.

Enhancing regional and international cooperation in regulating the profession and implementing projects and programs for its development.

Representing the Council in the national, regional and international health and nursing committees and providing advice regarding the profession.

Developing and publishing the Council's documents and publications locally and globally.

Contributing to planning and drawing up the general policies of the Council.

Brief Tasks of the Units of the Directorate:

  Planning, Studies and Policies Unit

Contributes to the development of the strategic plan for the nursing and midwifery profession, sets the necessary plans for its implementation and follow-up, conducts studies and draws up policies to upgrade the profession and improve its level.

 Continuing Professional Development Unit

Responsible for organizing and implementing training programs, continuing education and continuing professional development activities related to the nursing and midwifery professions. These programs are designed in alignment with national legislation, procedures, policies and standards as well as the directives of the Nursing Council, aiming to strengthen human resources within the profession by enhancing competencies and fostering scientific and clinical growth in accordance with the latest international standards.

  Examinations Unit

Setting the foundations and instructions for exams, including licensure exam and specialization exams. Supervising and preparing exam questions in accordance with the regulations and instructions issued by the Jordanian Nursing Council. Ensuring the confidentiality of examinations, and analyzing and reporting the examination results.

  Specialization and Professional Ladder Unit

Regulating nursing specializations and the professional ladder in alignment with national provisions and legislation. Developing programs and standards to guide professional specialization across various fields. Promoting the institutionalization of nursing specializations and career pathways while strengthening the delivery of specialized health care within health institutions.

 Simulation Lab Unit:

Managing the simulation center and supervising all operational activities to ensure alignment with technological developments and modern trends in training, continuing education, and clinical assessment. Providing opportunities for clinical application, promoting critical thinking, and enhancing decision-making skills within a realistic and safe virtual learning environment. Conducting OSCEs for nursing and other health professionals as needed.
